Hotel Pommier Awards and Recognitions

Launched in 2020, we started with a belief that we could build a better hotel experience for our guests. We would do the things franchise chain hotels were too lazy to do, and create an experience we would want as travelers. Several years, and many fresh pancakes later, we have been humbled to receive several awards and recognitions:

The Tripadvisor Travelers’ Choice Awards for Hotels recognize the best hotels in the world based on the reviews and ratings of millions of Tripadvisor travelers. Attaining this award is not easy, as hotels must consistently provide excellent service, amenities, and guest experiences in order to earn the high ratings and positive reviews needed to be considered for the award.

The Iowa Living Residents’ Choice Awards recognize the best businesses, organizations, and individuals in Warren County, Iowa. The winners are determined through public nominations and voting. The awards celebrate the people and businesses that make Warren County a great place to live.

☺The room was clean, comfortable and spacious.  Location was very convenient.  We enjoyed the breakfast - good selection.

☹We didn't realize there wasn't an elevator so climbing the stairs was difficult with an arthritic knee.  We would have requested a ground floor room had we know when we booked, but it wasn't a dealbreaker.

   We needed to be in town for a wedding. We were delighted to find the room to have plenty of space for our needs as well as our young service dog in training! While we did need to go unexpectedly early from our original plan. Breakfast was a delicious way to begin each morning. Many selections were available for each our tastes.    In the town we live in, We were in day 4 and 5 of a Do Not Use Water situation. We were desperate for a comfortable place to shower and relax and hope the situation at home would change before we went back. Living on bottled water is such a hassle.
The staff here are so considerate and accommodating. They are wonderful!
The bathroom, though small, had the best shower and water pressure and temperature. I took advantage and showered when we arrived and before we left. So refreshing. The room was comfortable and very clean. The bed was firm and relaxing.
On the chance, I also took 6 empty gallon jugs in the hopes they would let us fill them for use when we returned home. Absolutely they said. They never even hesitated.
They were so kind and so supportive. The situation at home, unfortunately, has not changed. So, we are staying here again in a few more days.
I highly recommend this hotel.

   Julie is awesome! The rest of the staff was kind and helpful. The breakfast is decent and they have extras you may need in the lobby. Breakfast is until 10 with check-out at 11. A very nice patio outside. Activities inside. I quite enjoyed the humorous signs throughout the building. Rooms are fresh and well maintained. Plenty of pillows, comfortable bed, hot shower with good water pressure. Curtains are good at blocking out light. Overall quiet area.

   Room was terrible. Will never stay again. Staff was great though.

Room was musty. Our clothes were damp just from sitting on the room. Shower fan was very loud and didn't even work. Water was luke warm in the shower and did not drain.

   Very clean room, friendly staff. We will stay here again! We had a king size bed room on the first floor.  When we walked in the room was nice and cool (it was 85° outside). The room has a desk, a nice chair and end table, a luggage table and  the dresser/TV stand with a nice size small fridge with freezer. They do turn them off between stays. Sign on the fridge. We didn't use it. Bathroom is nice size and they provided shampoo,  conditioner,  shower gel and lotion.
Breakfastv was yummy and there were many options. The front desk area was cozy.  They do have a laundry facility and hanging on that space was an iron and ironing board.  No hair dryers in the room.
They had a great Leslie outdoor area with a hot tub but we didn't use it.

   This is by far one of the best stays that my family and I have had at a hotel. We were lucky to get an apartment style room for the time that we stayed (Two separate rooms, a full kitchen, and a living room).
It was so awesome it felt like home. The location was super convenient and close to Walmart, McDonald's,Taco Bell, and Simpson College. About 20 minutes away from the airport.
Breakfast served daily til 10am, Laundry room up on the 2nd floor, Exercise area on the bottom floor, code entry/exit into the hotel and room. Simple arcade room for all. Grill available outside on the pavilion. Lots of parking space.
This will be our go to, should we come this way again. Nothing but good feels from check in to check out. All hotels should have these style of rooms available! 🙌

   Built in 1985 with only superficial updates. Won't stay here again. Bed was too firm. Slow drain in shower leaves you standing pool of water and hot water is limited. Breakfast was below quality of a Holiday Inn Express. It is close to Simpson College, but next time, I will stay in Norwalk area.

 Verified  Expedia now is giving customers an insurance to cover cancelations or otherwise for a refund if needed. I never have needed anything of the sorts nor heard of ins for a hotel room. It also is an additional cost so we chose not to pay since we knew would be staying the next day. Due to this our room was not refundable with expedia. I called the hotel first and the front desk clerk was very helpful when we needed to change the reservation due to choosing wrong date and Expedia not refunding. She also met our requests to be on ground floor close to entrance. The whole check in process was very easy to do and accomodatable for our late night arrival. The beds were very comfortable and appeared to be new. The hotel appears to be upgrading the atmosphere and remodeling during our stay but it didn't interfere with our stay. Everything was clean and comfortable. Parking was close to the entrance.  Verified  The property itself is well located, clean and comfortable. However, for a toilet backed up we were told to plunge the toilet ourselves. For late check-in, there is no staff and you have to check yourselves in. Second floor room assignment means you are carting suitcases yourselves up a staircase.    We enjoyed our stay, especially the card-free entry.  Room was spacious, fridge cold, clean & modern.

Only comment is the bathroom floor shld be scrubbed. The room was very clean otherwise.

 Verified  ☺The common areas look nice. Having a digital check in process was nice, helpful, and easy.

☹We stayed for 3 nights. The sheets had stains. I was able to request a new bedsheet, but when I asked for two extra pillows I was told there were not any extras. The bed was not the most comfortable. 
There were bugs/gnats in the sink every time the water was turned on. I told the front desk and I tried to pour hot water down the drain.

   Our accommodations were good for the rate charged. The room & bed were vwry comfortable. Shower pressure on 2nd floor was really good.  Breakfast was basic, with a few warm options. Coffee was meh, but McDonald's is next door. If you're looking for a healthy, well-balanced meal, find a nearby restaurant - there are several. Our host at check-in, Bobbie, was lovely and took care of us quickly. Loved the "extra supplies" rack. If going through Indianola again, would stay here. The overall mid-range  rating is due comfort and service (+) and breakfast (-).

   The beds were just a little too firm for my liking. I woke up pretty stiff w/ back soreness. Everything else was perfect, good breakfast and service, clean room.

   2026 - good place to stay , price is reasonable. Wish they had a covered smoking area. Building and exterior is starting to show its age. Staff  is great. Good breakfast.
