Our Story
After years of saving and sacrifice my family bought their first small-town motel. My sisters and I grew up watching (and helping!) them do everything. From laundry & front desk to payroll & supplies. That experience taught me what real hospitality looks like: showing up, working hard, and treating every guest like they matter.
After college, I followed the traditional path -> corporate job and a steady paycheck. But in the back of my mind I knew I wanted to try building something special. In 2019, months before the pandemic hit, I left that world behind and took over our struggling motel in Indianola, Iowa. We took on a major renovation which was terrifying. But slowly, with the help of my family, team, and community support, it became something we’re proud of: Hotel Pommier.
In 2025, we launched our second Hotel Pommier in Chariton, Iowa. Another small town that deserves a local hotel filled with personality, warmth, and care. No one is proud to have a Super 8 in town, we wanted to change that.
We’re just getting started, with hopes to bring this model to more towns that are often overlooked. Each hotel is a chance to breathe new life into an old space, and to honor the places that shaped us.
