Trying my best to not complain, but we’ve dealt with non-stop landmines that we have near zero control over. And this delivery was critical, it has sinks to get our guest rooms and public restrooms back in order.
We pivoted on the fly and are now assembling our brand-new breakfast area tables to keep the project moving forward. What do you think of the new breakfast area setup?

This should have been a 6 month project, but we are now 9 months in. But walking around the hotel and seeing everything come together feels amazing. The new lobby and breakfast area is looking better than I expected!

I didn’t want traditional and boring but also didn’t want abstract and confusing. @whimsical.twist she nailed it!
Candice had been on my radar for sometime so was super excited to finally give her a call. I didn’t even budget for an outside mural, but it became a priority once I realized how many people didn’t know our hotel existed.
It was super cool to see her in action and am over the moon with how it turned out.
Do you think more people will stop by the hotel now we’ve got this mural??

What can go wrong will go wrong! The renovation is really starting to come together which I’m over the moon about. But had some expensive ‘education’ along the way.
Thanks for all your support following along! 🙏

168 mattresses…no time to comb hair. Not getting much sleep during these renovations, but I guarantee our guests will be!

Every renovation throws its own unique curveball at me, and Winterset, despite being similar to how I thought Chariton would play out, is proving tight!

Things are moving fast! Now the walls have been opened up you can really start to see the vision come together which is super exciting. Now just need to make sure we don’t run out of money before we finish!
What do you think I should do about the cracks and weeds in the parking lot? I don’t have budget for new concrete, so hoping for a short term solution to hold us over. Any suggestions welcome 🙏

Over budget & behind schedule. 2 renovations down this was supposed to be the easy one. But we always raise the bar. Our guests and employees deserve it. Still pushing hard to wrap up in the Fall, but delaying grand opening until it’s perfect. 👷♂️🔨

Hey want to see my new roof? No, I just wanted the wifi password 🤣. Not a paid endorsement, but thankful for Axel and his crew at Reliable Roofing. Rare these days to get high quality work, fair pricing, and great communication throughout. Give them a ring at 515 745 5678 if you need a roof estimate!
